Vote-by-Mail

Requesting your absentee ballot now gives you the option to vote-by-mail for the November election!  Requesting an absentee ballot does not mean you have to vote by absentee ballot, but you'll have it ready just in case you decide to do that instead of going to the polls in person.

• Any North Carolina registered voter may request and receive a mail-in absentee ballot. No special circumstance is needed. You can also register to vote and request an absentee ballot at the same time.

• The voter or the voter’s near relative or legal guardian must complete, sign, and return the NC Absentee Ballot Request Form (near relative = spouse, brother, sister, parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, stepparent, or stepchild).

• A new request must be submitted for each election for non-military/overseas.
